Synopsis
The Forsyte Saga (2002) is a British period drama you can watch online on iFILM. Soames Forsyte, a wealthy solicitor used to owning whatever he desires, marries the beautiful Irene — only to run up against the one thing money can't secure: her love.
The story stretches from the 1870s to the 1920s across three generations of the family. Soames (Damian Lewis) treats his wife as a possession, but Irene (Gina McKee) falls for the architect Bosinney, who happens to be engaged to his young cousin. What follows is rupture, scandal, revenge, and the long shadow a single act casts over children and grandchildren. Around them spreads the whole Forsyte clan — all money, pride and carefully hidden cracks — with Rupert Graves and Gillian Kearney in the mix.
This ITV serial draws on the novels of Nobel laureate John Galsworthy, the same saga that gripped British TV back in 1967. It takes Victorian propriety and exposes the very modern wounds beneath it: possessiveness, the cage built around women, the price of respectability. One for fans of slow-burn English drama steeped in manners, class and family sin. Stream The Forsyte Saga (2002) online on iFILM.
