Synopsis

Tang Jiayu spent years training at clinics abroad before returning to China and being handed the directorship of a cardiac center at a Beijing hospital. The appointment goes down poorly with colleagues who were already there — and she knows it. Alongside managing that friction, she leads an in-house project to develop an artificial heart valve, which means competing for funding and credibility at the same time. Wei Da Xun plays the cardiologist whose path crosses hers both inside and outside the operating theater.
