Code Blue (2008) is a Japanese medical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Four fresh medical graduates begin their residency at a hospital that runs something uncommon in Japan — a helicopter emergency service.

The "Doctor Heli" team flies to places a regular ambulance can't reach in time: highway pileups, mountain accidents, emergencies far from any hospital. The young doctors get only minutes to stabilize a patient out in the field. Every call tests their nerve, their ambition, and their ability to hold steady when a life rides on the next decision. Tomohisa Yamashita, Yui Aragaki and Erika Toda head the cast.

One of Fuji TV's best-known medical series, the 2008 run grew into several follow-ups and a feature film. It's a restrained, unsentimental look at growing up inside a profession, better suited to viewers who prefer the real grind of emergency medicine over hospital melodrama.
