Synopsis
"Political Animals" (2012) is a USA Network limited series you can watch online on iFILM. Sigourney Weaver plays Elaine Barrish Hammond — former first lady, now Secretary of State — rebuilding her political identity while managing a family that keeps threatening to unravel her carefully constructed public image.
The six-episode run focuses less on Capitol intrigue and more on what happens behind the official residence door. Sebastian Stan plays a son in Congress who can't stay out of trouble. Ellen Burstyn is the sharp-tongued grandmother. Carla Gugino plays the Washington journalist circling Elaine for a story that could end her career. The estranged ex-husband lingers nearby. Everyone has leverage; nobody uses it cleanly.
