Ghosts of Beirut (Season 1)

Ghosts of Beirut (2023) is a Showtime drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Greg Barker. It reconstructs one of the most tangled manhunts in modern espionage: the decades-long pursuit of Imad Mughniyeh, the Hezbollah operative who kept slipping past CIA and Mossad handlers from the early 1980s until 2008.

The series cuts between three perspectives — American, Israeli and Lebanese — putting competing intelligence cultures on screen side by side. Dina Shihabi, Dermot Mulroney and Garret Dillahunt lead a multinational cast. Each side is given enough detail that you understand not just what they wanted, but why they kept getting it wrong.

Barker built the show from interviews with real intelligence officers, weaving documentary material into dramatised sequences.
