Twenty-six stand-alone adventures cover a wide stretch of frontier territory: a young English heir tries to hold on to a ranch against a scheming land grabber, a homesteader fences off cattle country and immediately stirs up the ranchers, and the Dalton Brothers keep escaping — which always ends badly for the Daltons. Luke crosses paths with Billy the Kid, Jesse James, and Ma Dalton herself at different points in the season. No episode repeats the same trick twice, which sets Season 1 apart from most cartoons of that era.
