Boyhood (Seasons 1–2)
Let's go!
Synopsis
Boyhood (2023) is a Korean action-comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 1989, in a quiet county in South Chungcheong Province. Jang Byeong-tae is a scrawny high-schooler stuck at the very bottom of the pecking order, and all he wants is to stop getting beaten up.
He transfers to a new school, and then absurdity strikes. Thanks to a wild mix-up, a rumor spreads that Byeong-tae is the toughest brawler in the region. Suddenly the coolest kids trail after him, flatter him, want him around. The catch: he can't actually fight, and now he has to play the local terror every single day, more convincingly each time. Im Si-wan, once of the K-pop group ZE:A, plays this accidental "school king" with charm and razor-sharp comic timing.
Director Lee Myung-woo, known for action shows like The Warrior Baek Dong-soo, drops it all into a noisy 1980s of cassette tapes, school uniforms and fistfights on empty lots. A warm retro coming-of-age comedy where the laughs sit right next to real teenage dread. Stream Boyhood (2023) online on iFILM.
