Synopsis
The People's Artist (Narodny artist, 2022) is a Russian dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. After a brawl lands celebrated actor Ivan Aleshkovsky in court, he is sentenced to community service far from the spotlight.
Instead of a film set, he gets a small seaside village and an amateur theatre club inside the local House of Culture. His new charges are teenagers he somehow has to drag all the way to a regional competition. Helping him settle in is Vera — his old school sweetheart, who also happens to run the club. Not everyone welcomes the big-city celebrity, though; a few locals would much rather see him slip up and serve real time.
