Journalist Anna Romano picks up what looks like a straightforward art theft — a stolen Caravaggio. Behind it sits the mystery of her father's death, and the two threads keep pulling at each other. The art world turns out to be a front: under the gallery dealings are financial schemes, and deeper still are ties to the Sicilian mob. Her family, she comes to understand, is not a bystander.
