Synopsis

Vera teaches school and has spent seventeen years looking for the son she gave up. She and her classmate Misha wanted that child — the timing was wrong, not the feeling. Then her mother's illness consumed everything: the apartment sold to cover the bills, the money lost to fraud, and Vera giving birth weeks ahead of schedule. She made a decision she hasn't been able to forgive herself for since.
