Synopsis
Black Cats (Чёрные кошки, 2014) is a Russian crime series you can watch online on iFILM, set in the ruins of postwar Rostov-on-Don. The year is 1947: the Soviet Union is starving, bread is rationed, and street gangs have carved whole city blocks into their territory. One outfit is different — they strike in the dark, leave no witnesses, and vanish without a trace.
Major Yegor Dragun of the criminal investigation unit, played by Pavel Derevyanko, is certain these are not ordinary thieves. Too clean. Too coordinated. His hunch proves right: the men behind the Black Cats name are former Wehrmacht officers in hiding, and the robberies are cover for a bigger operation. Their actual target is a German scientist held in a Soviet POW camp on the outskirts of the city.
