Synopsis
Frankie Drake Mysteries (2017) is a Canadian crime series you can watch online on iFILM, produced by CBC. Lauren Lee Smith plays Frankie Drake — daughter of a notorious con artist and, by the 1920s, Toronto's first and only female private detective.
Frankie and her partner Trudie (Chantel Riley) take the cases the Toronto police either won't touch or quietly want handled off the books: bootleggers, crooked aviators, union busters, political embarrassments. In a profession that officially doesn't exist for women, not being taken seriously turns out to be useful.
