Tientsin Mystic (河神, 2017) is a Chinese mystery-detective series you can watch online on iFILM, set in the early-twentieth-century port city of Tianjin. A wealthy shipping magnate is pulled from the river — chained, drowned, and left with no explanation that holds up — and the man who dives down to retrieve the body becomes the prime suspect.

That suspect is Guo Deyou, a police dive captain who knows these waters better than anyone. The victim's son, Ding Mao, launches his own investigation and reluctantly teams up with Guo, a spirit medium, and a local journalist. Together they trace a chain of similar drownings back to a secretive cult that everyone assumed had died out decades ago. Li Xian plays Guo Deyou with a loose, wry energy that keeps the tone from tipping too far into dread.
