Billionaire William Meyer treats that as enough evidence and quietly organises a new mission, Nausicaa, back to Mars. What he has kept from the crew shapes the season. Jeanne is alive, living inside a closed community off any map, carrying guilt over a death that left its mark on everyone around her. When Nausicaa lands and the team traces her steps, Mars is not the planet they remember: a forest harbouring something living, a portal, and on the other side a figure named Alice with revelations that reframe what the first mission actually found. Meyer realises too late what it meant to bring his daughter.
