Season 2
Don’t mention the war!
Synopsis
Fawlty Towers (1975), Season 2 — six episodes from 1979 that you can watch online on iFILM, the show's second and final series. Four years after the first. Basil hasn't changed.
The season opens with a guest who is selectively deaf and absolutely certain she has been robbed, while Basil has secretly put her money on a horse. A visiting psychiatrist turns up and makes Basil more anxious than any inspector would. An American demands a Waldorf salad after the kitchen has closed. In episode four a guest dies quietly overnight and Basil spends two scenes trying to move the body without anyone noticing. Sybil walks out before her own surprise anniversary party. The finale sends Manuel's pet rat — named Basil — scurrying through the hotel during a health inspection.
"The Kipper and the Corpse" and "Basil the Rat" are cited routinely in rankings of the best British sitcom episodes ever made. Cleese never brought Fawlty back after this. Stream Fawlty Towers Season 2 online on iFILM.
