Synopsis

Australia's deadliest animals are sick of being the scary exhibit, stuck behind glass while visitors recoil. So Maddie the venomous snake breaks out, dragging along Zoe the spiky lizard, Frank the hairy spider and Nigel the scorpion. A cuddly koala named Pretty Boy tags along too, even though the runaways can't stand the crowd-pleasing little show-off. The road home runs across the whole continent, with zookeepers hot on their trail.
Directors Harry Cripps and Claire Knight flip the usual rules: the cute one is the pest, and the so-called monsters turn out to be the heart of the story. The pace is fast, the colors pop, and the message lands without preaching. Stream Back to the Outback (2021) online on iFILM.
