Synopsis
HAPPY! (2017), Season 1 is the blood-soaked holiday black comedy you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes adapted from Grant Morrison's comic. Burnt-out ex-cop Nick Sax has sunk to contract killing when a tiny blue winged unicorn pops into his life.
The unicorn is Happy, imaginary friend to a kidnapped little girl and the only creature who thinks Sax is worth saving. Season one runs as a jagged sprint through New York at Christmas: a hunt for a maniac in a Santa suit, a Chinatown bloodbath, an ex-wife and a cop ex-partner chasing the same trail from another angle. Eight episodes, one race — reach his daughter Hailey before Very Bad Santa gets to the children.
Christopher Meloni plays Sax at full wreckage, and the gap between his nihilism and Happy's sugary cheer carries the show. Squeamish viewers should sit this one out; there's far more gore and profanity here than holiday warmth. Stream HAPPY! Season 1 online on iFILM.
