Synopsis
Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (1979) is a Rankin/Bass animated television special you can watch online on iFILM. The villain Winterbolt plots to seize the North Pole for himself, and it falls to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman to stop him. Their mission: infiltrate a summer beach carnival. For Frosty, that means surviving the July heat. For Rudolph, it means risking the magical nose that makes him who he is.
Produced in the stop-motion puppet style that defined Rankin/Bass holiday programming throughout the 1960s and 70s, the film features voice work from Mickey Rooney, Ethel Merman, and Red Buttons. At 97 minutes it runs longer than most seasonal specials from the era — essentially a feature-length farewell to two beloved characters made for the whole family. Stream Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July online on iFILM.
