Synopsis
Frosty the Snowman (1969) is a classic American holiday animated special you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin Jr., it runs a tight twenty-five minutes. A discarded magician's hat lands on a snowman's head, and suddenly Frosty is alive — hat tips, big button eyes blinking, first words out of his mouth: "Happy Birthday!"
The trouble is spring. Frosty and a little girl named Karen race for the North Pole before he melts, while the washed-up stage magician Professor Hinkle chases them down to reclaim the hat that made his act halfway decent. Jimmy Durante narrates, Jackie Vernon voices Frosty with exactly the right mix of delight and gentle sadness, and the whole thing wraps up before it overstays its welcome.
CBS first aired it in December 1969, and it has returned to American television every Christmas season since. Stream Frosty the Snowman (1969) online on iFILM.
