Synopsis

Jessie (Connery) is an aging career thief who still can't resist a good score. His son Vito (Hoffman) went straight years ago and has been hoping his own son Adam would be the first in the family to never see the inside of a cell. Then Adam shows up with a tip: a laboratory storing valuable biological materials, seemingly easy to crack for a million-dollar payday. Jessie signs on immediately; Vito, caught between two generations of pressure, folds. Lumet isn't interested in the heist mechanics — he's after the family dynamics underneath, the inherited guilt and old resentments that make people do things they know they shouldn't.
