This first season is about learning a language. Tess is thrown onto the floor as a trainee, and every gesture there carries a meaning she can't read yet. Simone takes her under her wing — teaching her to taste wine, to decode a tongue, to distrust the polish on other people's lives. Across six episodes the show stays small and sensory: shift drinks after close, a glimpse of a coworker's seemingly perfect marriage, one weird night that goes sideways. The pull here is appetite, not plot.
