Synopsis

It moves between a handful of lives. Richard Sackler stakes Purdue on a new opiate and muscles it onto pharmacy shelves nationwide. Shannon, fresh out of college, signs on as a sales rep — the money is great, the cost climbs with every prescription she helps write. Glen, a mechanic, takes OxyContin after a workplace injury and slides into addiction so gradually he barely notices, from the ER to the very bottom. And investigator Edie assembles a case against the drug giant piece by piece, fighting to convince her superiors that a "safe" medicine was built on a lie.
