Synopsis
Porridge returns for Season 2 (1975) with six more BBC episodes inside HMP Slade — you can watch them online on iFILM. Fletcher is still serving his stretch, but the routine around him keeps shifting.
Trouble arrives from every direction this time. A spate of petty theft breaks out among the cons, and Fletcher — who reckons thieving is a trade outside but a disgrace inside — decides to sort it himself. Godber gets crushing news from his girlfriend, and comfort turns up in the unlikely shape of Fletcher's daughter Ingrid. Then the familiar warder Mackay ships out, and his replacement makes the easy life look a long way off.
The closing run lands Fletcher in the prison infirmary with a broken ankle and pulls him into a boxing tournament, where Godber steps into the ring and fixer Harry Grout hints the bout is rigged. Fletcher is having a spell in the prison hospital with a broken ankle. He's sharing a ward with old Blanco, who tells him that another inmate has swindled him out of his belongings in a crooked card game. Fletcher hatches a plan to recover Blanco's belongings and to take revenge on the culprit.

Godber takes up boxing and wins a place in the prison championship, so Fletcher sees a chance for a bit of a flutter. Then Harry Grout takes an interest and insists that the fight is 'fixed'. When one of Grout's rivals takes a similar interest in Godber's opponent, it looks as if nobody can win. Fletcher, however, has other ideas.
