Garrett Hedlund plays Russell, Mel Gibson plays Mitchell, the father who kept the porch light on. Willa Fitzgerald is Maben, a young woman with a small child and a violent problem closing in behind her. Russell meets her by accident on his first night out. Now they're both running, and neither one knows if the other can be trusted. The film builds its tension slowly — two strangers, two damaged histories, one bad road ahead.
