Synopsis
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004) is a British-American biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Stephen Hopkins adapted Roger Lewis's book, and Geoffrey Rush plays Sellers as a man who could inhabit any character except his own.
From BBC radio sketches to Inspector Clouseau and Dr. Strangelove, Sellers rewrote what screen comedy could be. But the genius came packaged with reckless selfishness: marriages dissolved, children were strangers to him, and collaborators walked away burned. Rush cycles through Sellers's famous roles mid-scene, then snaps back to the hollow real man behind them. Charlize Theron plays Britt Ekland; Stanley Tucci is Stanley Kubrick.
