Pilot Brodie Torrance flies a commercial route straight into a storm. Lightning knocks out the systems and forces a blind emergency landing. The plane comes down on Jolo, an island in the Philippines controlled by armed separatists who see the passengers as hostages worth ransoming. No rescue, almost no signal. Torrance's only ally is the one man in worse shape than he is: Louis Gaspare, a homicide suspect being transported under guard. Mike Colter plays Gaspare, Tony Goldwyn runs the recovery operation back home, and Daniella Pineda plays a flight attendant caught in the middle.
