Synopsis

Saul Indian Horse grows up in a residential school — a government-run institution that separated Indigenous children from their families and worked to erase their language and identity. Hockey becomes his way out. His talent carries him onto competitive ice in the 1970s, but racism from the stands and the coaching staff follows him off the rink. The damage done in that school doesn't vanish with each goal he scores; it resurfaces as alcoholism and quiet self-destruction.
