Synopsis

Bogus (1996) is a Warner Bros. family fantasy-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Norman Jewison and starring Whoopi Goldberg, Gérard Depardieu and a very young Haley Joel Osment in one of his earliest roles.

Seven-year-old Albert loses his circus-performer mother in a car accident and is shipped to live with Harriet, a family friend who never wanted children and has no idea what to do with one. Albert copes by holding onto his imaginary friend Bogus — a dapper, French-accented magician played by Depardieu with a warmth that sneaks up on you. Bogus can see what neither Albert nor Harriet will say out loud: that both of them are frightened and both of them need the other more than they'll admit. Osment, two years before The Sixth Sense, already has that rare quality of seeming to think rather than act.

Stream Bogus (1996) online on iFILM — a gentle, underseen family film about the imaginary friends grief invents, and the real ones it eventually finds.
