Synopsis

As a boy, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) watched a mugger gun down his parents. Years later he walks away from his fortune and vanishes across the world, where a shadowy mentor named Ducard (Liam Neeson) trains him to weaponize fear instead of running from it. Back home in a Gotham rotten with crime, Bruce builds a persona that criminals will dread. On his side: loyal butler Alfred (Michael Caine), inventor Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) and honest cop Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman). Against him: mob boss Carmine Falcone and the psychiatrist Jonathan Crane (Cillian Murphy), who poisons the city with a fear-inducing gas.
