Flashpoint (2008) is a Canadian police drama you can watch online on iFILM. It follows the SRU, an elite tactical unit called in wherever one wrong move costs a life — hostage takings, a sniper on a rooftop, a man at the edge of a bridge.

The team's real weapon is talk, not gunfire. Sergeant Greg Parker (Enrico Colantoni) and his crew — Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), Jules Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson), rookie Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) — try to read the person on the other side of the scope before anyone pulls a trigger. The show ran five seasons on one plain, honest idea: behind every "subject" there's a broken story, and talking someone down can be harder than storming in. The weight of those calls lands on the cops themselves, and the series never hides it. A good fit if you like procedurals where the tension is psychological rather than a shootout.
