Synopsis

Miracle at St. Anna (2008) is Spike Lee's World War II drama you can watch online on iFILM. Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, Laz Alonso and Omar Benson Miller lead the cast as soldiers of the 92nd Infantry Division — the all-Black "Buffalo Soldiers" — cut off behind enemy lines in Tuscany.

Four men, a wounded Italian boy, and a German sweep of the hills. While racist officers order suicidal advances from a safe distance, one soldier forms an unlikely bond with the child he carried to safety. The story moves between the war itself and a decades-later murder investigation that sets the whole history in motion.

Based on James McBride's novel, the film asks what it means to fight and die for a country that still treats you as second-class. John Turturro and Joseph Gordon-Levitt appear in supporting roles. At 160 minutes it's unhurried — rewarding for viewers who want history given room to breathe. Stream Miracle at St. Anna (2008) online on iFILM.
