Synopsis

The story moves between the war itself and a decades-later murder investigation that sets the whole history in motion.
Based on James McBride's novel, the film asks what it means to fight and die for a country that still treats you as second-class. John Turturro and Joseph Gordon-Levitt appear in supporting roles.
