Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) haven't been in the same room in fifteen years. A contract clause nobody remembered drags them back together for one last concert. Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Garth Brooks appear along the way. The original film basically invented the rock-doc spoof in 1984 — deadpan talking-head confessions, disaster unfolding in real time, musicians with zero self-awareness — and this one returns to that exact format without trying to update it.
