Season 1
We must all come together.
Synopsis
Carnival Row (2019), Season 1 — watch all 8 episodes online on iFILM. The Burgue is a Victorian-dark city where fae refugees pour in from a fallen homeland and pile into the Row: overcrowded, surveilled, and one bad night away from open violence.
Someone is killing them. The bodies are faeries; the police look elsewhere. Inspector Rycroft Philostrate — Philo, played by Orlando Bloom — takes the case alone. Then Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne) arrives from the occupied land of Tirnanoc, and Philo's carefully buried wartime past comes with her. The investigation runs parallel to a parliament debating fae policy, a fae smuggling network called the Black Raven, and an uneasy relationship between an aristocrat and a wealthy puck who bought into the wrong neighbourhood. When the evidence turns against Philo and he ends up in a cell, the person who steps up is not who anyone expected.
Strongest as a noir murder mystery — the creature-fantasy world is the backdrop; grief and politics are the engine. Stream Carnival Row Season 1 on iFILM.
