Lewis (2007) is a British detective series you can watch online on iFILM. Inspector Robert Lewis comes back to Oxford years after the death of his famous mentor, Inspector Morse.

Kevin Whately plays Lewis as a solid, unflashy copper of the old school, working murders among the dons, students and centuries-old colleges of Oxford. His partner is Sergeant James Hathaway (Laurence Fox), a Cambridge graduate and former seminarian — bookish, dry, quick with a Latin tag. That pairing is the whole pleasure of the show: a weary veteran with no academic polish beside a young man who reads theology for fun. The cases tangle as deeply as the scholarly feuds that spawn them, and a young Taron Egerton turns up among the guest cast.

This is a direct continuation of the Inspector Morse world drawn from Colin Dexter's novels, and it keeps that unhurried, almost cosy English rhythm: rainy Oxford spires, classical music, conversation sharper than any gunshot.
