Synopsis
Treasure Island (1934) is an MGM adventure film you can watch online on iFILM — Victor Fleming's adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, with Wallace Beery as Long John Silver and young Jackie Cooper as Jim Hawkins.
An orphan boy stumbles onto a map leading to the buried fortune of the pirate captain Flint. Getting a ship and crew together seems like the hard part — until the voyage reveals that half the men on board were recruited by Silver himself and have their own claims on the gold. Beery plays the one-legged cook with such layered charm that you genuinely can't read his intentions, which is exactly the trick the book pulls on Jim. Lionel Barrymore rounds out a strong supporting cast.
