Synopsis

The fifth season tracks two parallel struggles. Christy gets rejected from law school, then loses her restaurant job — and has to decide what she's rebuilding toward. Bonnie's brother Ray returns from rehab seeming changed, which introduces complications nobody accounted for. Bonnie and Adam take most of the season to surface the disagreement sitting under their relationship: they want the same future but don't picture it the same way. Adam's brother Patrick enters the picture in a way that concerns Christy specifically.
