Synopsis
The Atticus Institute (2015) is an American found-footage horror directed by Chris Sparling — watch it online on iFILM, with William Mapother and Rya Kihlstedt in the lead roles.
Dr. Henry West (Mapother) runs a small parapsychology lab in the early 1970s, testing subjects for telekinesis and ESP. Most are frauds. Then Judith Winstead (Kihlstedt) walks in and bends the instruments. The U.S. military hears about it and takes over, with a very specific ambition: weaponise whatever is living inside her. The film presents itself as a documentary assembled from interview footage and classified records, and that framing is what gives it its chill. You never quite see enough to be sure.
At 82 minutes it moves fast and never oversells the horror. For a low-budget found-footage picture it carries genuine unease — the kind that lingers after the credits roll. Stream The Atticus Institute online on iFILM.
