Synopsis
Wilfred (2011–2014) is the pitch-black FX comedy you can watch online on iFILM, built on one gloriously deranged idea. Ryan is a depressed, suicidal ex-lawyer who feels like a ghost in his own life. Then his neighbor asks him to dog-sit Wilfred — and where everyone else sees a dog, Ryan sees a crude, pot-smoking Australian man in a cheap fur suit.
Elijah Wood plays Ryan; Jason Gann reprises Wilfred from the original Australian series he co-created. Is the talking dog real, a hallucination, or something stranger? The show never lets you fully decide. Behind the gross-out gags and buried-treasure schemes sits a genuinely thoughtful comedy about anxiety, loneliness, and learning to want to be alive. Wilfred bullies, manipulates and occasionally saves him.
