Season 1
So just sit right down, relax, open your ears real wide and say, "Give it to me straight, Doctor. I can take it!"
Synopsis
WKRP in Cincinnati (1978), Season 1 is a 22-episode workplace sitcom you can watch online on iFILM — the first run of the show about a failing radio station that ditches sleepy music for top-40 rock and never quite recovers its dignity.
New program director Andy Travis talks the owner into the gamble, and the building wakes up. Burned-out DJ Johnny Fever gets back on the air, smooth newcomer Venus Flytrap joins him, and the rest of the staff supplies the chaos: jittery newsman Les Nessman, sleazy ad man Herb Tarlek, and unflappable receptionist Jennifer who actually runs the place. Across the season you get a contest that accidentally promises listeners a fortune, a tornado that hits mid-tour, and one Thanksgiving turkey stunt that goes very, very wrong. Small disasters, every week.
It's a CBS ensemble comedy that nails late-seventies radio without leaning on a single star. Season 1 is the right place to start — the cast is still figuring each other out. Stream all episodes of WKRP in Cincinnati Season 1 online on iFILM.
