Synopsis

WKRP in Cincinnati Season 3 (1980) is 22 episodes you can watch online on iFILM — the radio sitcom well past its rock-format growing pains, with writers happy to push the cast out of the booth and into the wider world.

You feel the change early. Jennifer buys an expensive house in a quiet suburb and quickly decides quiet isn't for her. The Carlsons finally have their baby. Les delivers traffic reports from a World War I biplane flown by an unhinged veteran, Herb parades his family onto a wholesome reality show and gets exposed, and Johnny signs on to host a music program without realizing it's all disco. Late in the run the season turns sharp: the episode about a watchdog group demanding the station pull "obscene" songs is one of the show's most remembered, a clear-eyed look at radio censorship that still bites.

This is the stretch where the ensemble grows up — less frantic, more character, braver subjects. It rewards anyone who's watched the first two seasons and likes a comedy willing to get serious. Stream WKRP in Cincinnati Season 3 online on iFILM.
