Synopsis
The Patient (2022), Season 1 is a ten-episode psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM, with Steve Carell as therapist Alan Strauss — who wakes up chained to a bed in a stranger's basement.
His captor is a patient. Sam is a serial killer, and his request is impossible: cure the urge to kill without ever leaving this room. Session by session the doctor works on the man holding him hostage while scanning for any crack he might slip through. Every sentence is a gamble — push Sam too hard and it turns dangerous; play along and he becomes complicit. Between sessions Alan keeps circling back to his late wife and the son he fell out with.
