Synopsis
Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête, 2014) is a French-German fantasy film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Christophe Gans reimagined the classic fairy tale as a dark, visually ambitious period piece — starring Vincent Cassel as the Beast and Léa Seydoux as Belle.
Set in early 19th-century Europe, the story begins with a merchant family stripped of their fortune and forced to start over in the countryside. Fleeing bandits through a winter forest, the father stumbles into an enchanted castle. Its master lets him stay — but plucking a rose from the garden triggers a threat: hand over a daughter or die. Belle arrives in his place. She finds golden servants who move without speaking, lavish feasts prepared by unseen hands, and a creature whose nights are haunted by the curse that made him what he is.
