Chobits (ちょびっツ, 2002) is a Japanese anime series produced by Madhouse, based on the manga by CLAMP — watch all episodes online on iFILM. In a near-future Tokyo, humanoid computers called persocoms are everywhere: companions, assistants, digital partners that look almost indistinguishable from people.

Hideki Motosuwa is a cram-school student who can't afford one. Then he finds a persocom abandoned in the trash — long-haired, wide-eyed, and running on nothing but a single learning program. She can only say "Chii," so that becomes her name. As Hideki patiently teaches her language and everyday life, a deeper question surfaces: rumour has it that a rare type of persocom called a Chobit can actually feel, not just simulate.

The series moves between warm slice-of-life comedy and genuine curiosity about what it means to be conscious.
