Synopsis
It's All About Love (2003) is Thomas Vinterberg's science-fiction romance, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The near future has gone strange: snow falls in summer, and people drop dead on the sidewalk for no reason anyone can explain. John flies into New York to finalize a divorce and walks straight into a conspiracy.
His wife Elena is a world-famous figure skater, and powerful people refuse to let her walk away. Joaquin Phoenix and Claire Danes play the couple, with Sean Penn heard in voice-over and a young Mark Strong in the mix. As reality keeps coming apart around them, the two realize the marriage they came to end is the one thing worth saving. Staying alive and staying in love turn out to be the same fight.
A founder of the Dogme 95 movement, Vinterberg made something cold, dreamlike and divisive — sci-fi used as a backdrop for a film about intimacy rather than spectacle. Slow and melancholy, very much an acquired taste. Stream It's All About Love (2003) online on iFILM.
