Synopsis

Deep-space mining vessel Ishimura recovers a massive alien artifact from a remote planet — a Marker that a fringe religious order believes is proof of humanity's creators. Moving it turns out to be a catastrophic mistake. Something awakens. The crew starts to change in ways that leave very little of them recognisably human.
The film earns its R rating with genuine brutality, and it never softens the premise. What it actually delivers is the backstory to the hell the game's Isaac Clarke walks into: every corridor, every log entry, every dead crew member on that ship now has an explanation.
