Synopsis
An American Carol (2008) is a political comedy from David Zucker that you can watch online on iFILM. Hollywood director Michael Malone despises the Fourth of July and launches a crusade to scrap the holiday. Then three spirits show up on the eve of Independence Day.
Zucker, the man behind The Naked Gun and Airplane!, twists Dickens' A Christmas Carol into a loud, slapstick send-up of American politics. Kevin Farley plays Malone, with Leslie Nielsen, Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, James Woods and Dennis Hopper filling out the cast. The jokes are broad and proudly right-leaning, swinging at anti-American attitudes with zero subtlety. It is best suited to viewers who enjoy Zucker's gag-a-minute style and aren't looking for nuance. Stream An American Carol online on iFILM.
