Together

Together (2021) is a British dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. A husband and wife are stuck in one house for the duration of lockdown, and the camera rarely lets them leave the frame. They speak straight to the viewer, narrating ten years of marriage out loud — the resentments, the small cruelties, the jokes they still land on each other.

James McAvoy and Sharon Horgan carry the whole thing as a couple who can barely stand each other yet never quite walk away. Director Stephen Daldry stages it almost like a two-hander play: one location, long unbroken takes, no score to lean on. Dennis Kelly's script lets the pandemic work as a magnifying glass rather than a backdrop, blowing up every grudge while the national death toll keeps creeping into their kitchen arguments.
