Prey

The Newmans get stranded in an open vehicle inside a game reserve. The engine won't start. There's no signal. A pride of lions circles the jeep and doesn't leave. That's essentially the film — and Roodt commits to the premise rather than inflating it. No elaborate plot mechanics, no backstory subplots eating screen time. Just the heat, the lions, and a family under pressure discovering what they're actually made of.
