Synopsis
The Naked Prey (1965) is a survival adventure thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Cornel Wilde both directed and starred, playing a safari guide whom an African tribe strips, disarms and sets loose with only a few seconds' head start before the hunt begins.
The setup is brutally simple. Wilde's companions insult the tribe by refusing a gift, and they are executed one after another. The lone survivor is granted the so-called Lion's Chance: run, while a band of warriors arms up to chase him down. What follows is roughly ninety minutes of pursuit across the scorched South African veld, told almost without dialogue — just heat, hunger and raw instinct carrying the picture. Its screenplay earned an Academy Award nomination. The reason to watch is the purity of the experiment: a chase film that grips for an hour and a half without a wasted line.
