Synopsis

Warsaw, Indiana. Veteran detectives have a tradition: gather around a poker table, drink, and walk the rookies through the cases that taught them the most. Rookie detective Jeter sits and listens. That same night, a psychopath grabs him and locks him in a basement. No weapon, no backup, no phone. All Jeter has is what he absorbed at that table — the methods, the instincts, the patterns those older cops described for reading people and forcing situations open.
The film runs on a multi-layer flashback structure: each story the detectives told becomes a tool Jeter has to test under pressure, in real time, against someone who has done this before. It's a tighter conceit than the standard abduction thriller, and with Perlman and Esposito in the supporting seats, there's enough weight in the storytelling segments to make it worth the ride.
